Dear Parents... We welcome you in the Heart Center Münster (Germany). Your child suffers from a congenital heart defect and will require an operation. We understand your fears with regard to this operation. The fear of the unknown adds to your anxiety. We would like to give as much information as possible to help you at this time.
In addition to the information you will receive from your cardiologist, anesthesiologist and cardiac surgeon, the Heart Center in Münster will provide you with more comprehensive information on the subject of heart surgery. At the moment this form of information is only offered in Münster.
We cordially invite you and your family to an information afternoon that takes place regularly. On this occasion we would like to further inform you on the topic of your child’s heart operation. You will also have the opportunity to get to know our pediatric intensive care unit. As parents you are an integral member of your child’s medical team and we would like you to be involved and know about´ each step in this healing process. We have a new baby-sitter service. On request we will gladly help you find professional nursing staff to take care of any of your other children during your absence. We offer this service to all our children families who attend our heart center.
